Have used the freezer only for ONE day, comprehensive review will follow. That said, it's rather disappointing that the lowest temperature setting is only at -6F. According to conventional wisdom, the best temperature to freeze food is between 0F and -10F, but for ice cream is between -10F and -20F. Therefore this freezer is unsuitable to store ice cream?

We are delighted with our new GE Freezer. Although our new freezer is smaller than our previous one (not a GE) the design of the interior is much better and I am able to organize our frozen foods effectively. We also like that the temperature gauge is on the door and that there is a turbo freeze option. We are gradually replacing all of our appliances with GE products.

Just a horrible product. I've had the freezer less than a year, just shuts down automatically and doesn't turn back on. I've had to throw away thousands of dollars of food. I'm so upset. I would recommend not to buy.

The capacity is truly impressive , we were able to fit half a beef, roughly 200 pounds of meat, with room to spare, and the upright design makes organizing everything easy and accessible. Larger cuts, ground beef, and packaged items all fit comfortably without feeling crammed, and nothing gets lost at the bottom like in a chest freezer. It™™s been very compatible with our space and needs, fitting well in our setup and running quietly on a standard outlet with no special requirements. Temperature control has been excellent from day one, holding a consistent, solid freeze throughout the freezer and giving us confidence that our meat is being stored safely. While we haven™™t owned it long enough to give a measurable assessment of long-term efficiency or frost buildup, initial performance has been smooth and reliable with no issues so far. Overall, this freezer feels well-built, thoughtfully designed, and more than capable of handling serious bulk storage. We had to replace our aging freezer because at 16 years of age it never quit running. There aren't too many freezers to choose from, but when we found this one it was perfect for our needs. It's quiet and barely runs. We love the 48 hour power outage guarantee to keep food frozen. Also, it's nice to have the option to run at below 0 if needed. Great interior design and perfect size for us. Fingers crossed this one lasts as long as the last!

I love everything about this freezer.
The inside lighting is bright.The bins are a plus and hold a lot. Shelves in the door are great. It came to freezing temperature within 4 hours. Its quite no loud noises.

Good size for small household. Replaced a freezer with wire shelves. I much prefer the configuration of the solid glass shelves and drawers. I like that the temperature and other controls are on the front of the door. Also has high temperature alarm and door open alarm, did not have those on my previous freezer. Noise not an issue in a basement. Review is on new freezer so can not comment on reliability

Love this freezer. It replaced one we had for years. It is quite a bog bigger then the old one. The shelves, drawers and door shelves make it so east to organize things. Freezes well. And is pretty quiet. Can't speak to the energy savings as we haven't had it long enough to notice any difference.

We got a great deal on our GE 14.1 CF Frost-Free Freezer through a sale at Costco in mid-July '25. "Garage-Ready" was a key selling point since the freezer is in our Florida garage with summer daytime inside garage temps averaging 92 degrees. The temp readout on the front of the freezer door is great so we can visually monitor the temperature and everything stored inside appears quite solid. The shelves and drawers provide sufficient support for our needs and 14.1 CF is a great size--not too small, and not too large, and best of all it's FROST-FREE. Since it's in the garage noise isn't an issue, but I am impressed at just how quiet it is when it is running. We haven't noticed any change in our electric bill so I'm guessing that this freezer is very energy efficient.

So far so good, it holds temperature, but it would really be nice if the display also showed the interior temperature and not just the setpoint. We have the freezer in the inside the air conditioned house, so garage ready isn't important, but garage ready does not mean garage ready in Florida. It only has a maximum temperature rating of 110 degrees, our garage in summer hits 120 regularly. We really don't have to worry too much about the low operating temperature.
It has glass shelving and so far no complaints about that. We would have liked the wire shelving but it was unavailable from Costco when we purchased it.
It is slightly noisy compared to our GE refrigerator but it is not excessive.

I got my freezer delivered August 30,2024. We are here now October 12, 2025 a few weeks past my warranty expiration of course and the compressor has went out. I am beyond annoyed and frustrated because we have been quoted 2 prices both over $500 to replace. Lost a lot of food and barely had this for a year. The repair man told us to just get a new one. Something else I just can™™t afford.
