Poor Customer service and Horrible Product

To say that I am dissatisfied is a complete understatement. I have always believed that GE appliances were reliable™"especially their laundry products. I owned an old GE dryer for over 10 years and was very happy with it, so when it finally needed to be replaced, I felt confident purchasing another GE dryer. That confidence was a mistake.
The problems started immediately. First, I had to wait almost a month for my new dryer due to an error on GE™™s part. When it finally arrived, we used it no more than twice before noticing a serious issue. Each time we ran the dryer, it would automatically shut off after about 5 minutes. When I pressed start again, it would run for another 5 minutes and shut off once more. During those few minutes of operation, the machine gave off a strong burning smell.
I removed my clothes™"still completely soaked™"and tested the dryer empty. It once again shut off after 5 minutes, with the same burning odor. I called GE, and they sent a technician, but he didn™™t arrive until a week after my complaint. He couldn™™t fix the issue, ordered some parts, and left. We then waited another 2™3 weeks for the parts and for the technician to return.
When he finally came back and replaced the parts, the dryer still did not work. The exact same problem continued. He then mentioned additional parts that might need to be repaired. That™™s when I realized how much time, money, and frustration I had invested™"for a dryer I™™ve been able to use only twice since purchasing it.
Despite all of this, GE representatives keep insisting that another technician needs to come out and ™try to fix it.™ How many more rounds of this do I have to go through just to get a working machine? Why should a customer endure months of inconvenience instead of GE simply replacing the defective unit? We are now approaching 3 months since purchase, with only 2 uses, and absolutely no resolution. Customer service has been horrible, and at this point, the Better Business Bureau needs to get involved.

Appliance looks great and has many positive reviews. It is not noise with a large capacity and o far the performance has been outstanding. I like the features and installation was straight forward.

Bought this dryer a few months ago and from day one it has not fully dried my clothes. I had 3 GE technicians come to my house just to tell me that it™™s just the way the dryers are made now that they™™re all made terrible. One guy did say the dryer was losing heat and ordered the parts to fix it but when they came, another guy said that wouldn™™t change anything. For a while I could get away with running the dryer twice which means it takes 4-6 hours to dry the clothes. However tonight it™™s running for 6 hours and the dryer isn™™t even hot and my clothes are wet. Do not purchase a Ge appliance. The better business bureau should do something about this company since they have over 1,300 1 star ratings on consumer affairs. Their own repair people say they are made terrible now. They won™™t seem the dryer unrepairable. It™™s a disgrace that I even have to write this and now bring my clothes to a laundromat tomorrow to dry my clothes when I just spent almost a $1,000 on a brand new dryer. They won™™t replace or exchange or do anything right. If you buy this brand.. you are in for a headache. So make sure you do your research.
