Pedestal noise and washer

Completely bad design. It provides the right height but it turns into a loudspeaker when the washer goes into spin cycle. The metal top of the pedestal simply vibrates to resonance and you can hear the low frequency sound from 5 blocks away. I had my GE front-loader for just a couple of years and now it leaks water from the front, looking into why this very second. GE is junk, buy something else.

This riser arrived after my washer was delivered and installed so I tried to return it. Nothing in the description or the website says that this is not eligible for a return. There is no way to do a return on the website, so I called customer service. Talked to two people and I was told that they can't figure out a way to return it or refund my money to the card used for purchase. I was told that I would be getting a return call or email. I have gotten neither. I will buy elsewhere in the future.

Good Pedestal with Poor Directions

Pedestal was received quickly and was reasonably easy to install with the exception of the leveling feet. The instructions said that a 9/16" open end wrench was needed to tighten / level the feet. The nut size is 5/8", not 9/16".

If these are not installed properly with the Styrofoam pads to put between the washer and the pedestal it sounds like a jet engine when the washing machine spins. It took 7 service calls before they found out what was causing the issue and fixed it.

Had the 7™ risers installed on our new GE front loads (from Nonn™™s). Washer becomes extremely noisy (squealing/squeaking) durning spin cycles. Call Nonn™™s, who sent out a tech, who proceeded to say, there™™s nothing he could do and that this is a common issue with the risers. Called Nonn™™s back to ask for a refund and was denied. Said to sell them on e-bay. Called GE directly and they said it™™s an accessory and I should go through the retailer (Nonn™™s) I purchased through and there was nothing they would do with regards to a return.

Do not buy the 7" pedestal from GE!
GE 7 inch base HORRIBLE

Complete garbage! Our new front loader GE washer and dryer worked fine until we installed these a month later. The pedestals are really not designed correctly for the units. The feet fit snug in the washer and dryer with no pedestals attached. When the pedestals were connected to the units, the feet do not screw into the bottom of the pedestals snugly anymore, the are very loose. There are also no tightening bolts on the adjustable screw feet which makes the washer sound like it's coming through the wall, massive vibration. We called the Home Depot installers out 2 times to correct this, thinking they didn't know what they were doing. Afterwards, we hired an independent service company with 30 years experience (another $300) and they told us the units would always vibrate because of the incorrectly designed platforms. They said they have never seen such a poorly designed pedestal.
GE engineers had no idea what they are doing on these, so please avoid the pedestals if you can. Maybe the taller slide-drawer bases are better, but be careful.
