I am very happy with this counter depth refrigerator. It suits my needs perfectly, Roomy with the adjustable shelves. Although the existing GE refrigerator in the house when I bought it was only 5 years old, it was a side by side and it didn't function for me. I again purchased the slate to match the rest of appliances, but I wish there was a touch up kit because it was only 2 weeks old when the new quartz was installed and the refrigerator has a small scrape. It also is the noisiest refrigerator I have ever owned with a constant rattling sound. I like how well lit the interior is and the location of the filter. I highly recommend this product if one needs to have a counter depth refrigerator.

Ordered through RC Willey, and they were great to work with. We had the same fridge for just shy of 10 years (until a power outage/surge knocked out the compressor, which unfortunately is no longer manufactured). We loved it so much that we ordered another, However, the new model has no water sensor or pull out shelf in the door ice/water dispenser, has fewer interior lights and less airflow vents, no deli drawer temp controls, no enclosed shelf with dropdown shelf on the right hand door interior, no narrow tipdown shelf on the interior freezer drawer, no split level shelf in the refrigerator and the handles, inerior finishes (even the GE logo button) are of lesser quality compared to the orginal we had.

Water dispenser leave a few drops of water every time we fill a glass. And there is just a flat surface that shows the drip - no drain area. Also the front of the refrigerator has a scratch on it from being to close to my counter. I need the slate paint to try to mend it.

I am extremely frustrated with GE for this experience. I spent nearly $3,000 on a GE Profile countertop-depth slate refrigerator. When it broke under warranty, GE no longer sold the model I purchased. To match the color and depth, I had to replace it with a non-Profile refrigerator that costs about $1,000 less than what I originally paid. Now I™™m out $1,000 and stuck with a refrigerator that has fewer shelves (Configuration), fewer features, less efficiency (no auto-fill for water), and lacks the user-friendly configuration that made the Profile worth buying. This played a part in a recent purchase...recently replaced my washer and no it is not a GE appliance.

We needed to replace a Slate 'GE Profile' fridge. Rest of kitchen is Slate "Profile". We get so many compliments on the Slate finish in the kitchen. It's a bit more sophisticated than basic stainless. But, pooh, our Profile fridge died, and GE no longer makes the GE Profile in Slate. Deciding that matching the rest of the kitchen was more important than function, we bought the non-"Profile" slate. It's an OK fridge, but not nearly as nice as 'Profile' upgrade. It cools the food, and Slate looks incredible with our espresso color cabinets, blue grey counter, white floor and grey crackle glass backsplash. Unfortunately, this model does not include the features we became accustomed to. The split shelf for tall items is not included. The door butter dish shelf is not included. The little hanging drawer on the inside of freezer door is not included. The non-skid liners are not included. The water dispenser does not have 'auto fill'. The overflow shelf under the water dispenser is not included. Because the carcass of the appliance is the same as profile, we kept the shelves and door baskets from our dead 'Profile'. They fit perfectly. I wish GE still made the Slate for "Profile" or "Cafe". We would have upgraded to "Cafe" if it came in slate.

I like the style and color. The ice comes out the refrigerator and hit the floor with each use. Keep a towel near by to clean up the mess. I don't like that when you open the freezer door both compartment open at the same time. The lightening inside the refrigerator is excellent. A nice feature is a light for outside where the ice come out. Lastly, we really like the filter water.

I purchased the GE model GYE22GMNES refrigerator, on 5/5/25 with high expectations, trusting the reputation of General Electric and the sleek design of this appliance. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a colossal mistake. After only one week of operation, the refrigerator completely failed, and I was informed by the GE service tech. that the entire sealed cooling system needed to be replaced ™" an issue that should never occur with a brand new, premium-priced appliance. Let that sink in: seven days of use before a major systems failure. This is not just a minor inconvenience ™" it™™s a complete breakdown of the appliance™™s core function. I didn™™t buy a discounted floor model or a refurbished unit. This was a brand new refrigerator straight from the manufacturer. For a unit to require such invasive repairs so soon reveals either catastrophic quality control issues or a fundamental design flaw. Either way, it raises serious concerns about the long-term reliability of GE appliances. As if the product failure wasn™™t bad enough, the GE customer service experience has been utterly dismal. I was told I would receive follow-up calls and prompt updates about the repair or replacement process. Those calls never came. I had to follow up myself, only to be met with vague reassurances, no firm commitments, and zero accountability. The call center experience has been nothing short of infuriating ™" agents lacking authority, long hold times, broken promises. To make matters worse, GE has decided to repair the unit rather than replace it ™" a decision that makes zero financial or customer service sense. I now face the prospect of owning a refrigerator that, despite being only days old, has undergone a full sealed system replacement ™" essentially turning it into a remanufactured product. That is not what I paid for. I paid for a new, fully functional unit ™" not one that™™s been dissected and reassembled like a factory second. This decision reflects a complete disregard for the customer experience and financial fairness. GE is protecting their bottom line by cutting corners with repairs instead of owning up to their responsibility and providing a new, reliable product. It™™s unacceptable and feels like a betrayal of consumer trust. Final Verdict: Avoid the GE GYE22GMNES refrigerator at all costs. The product is clearly unreliable, and the customer service experience compounds the frustration exponentially. What should have been a straightforward purchase turned into a logistical nightmare and a complete waste of time, money, and trust. I would not recommend this product ™" or this brand ™" to anyone.

This 2nd new GE SLATE COUNTER DEPTH REFRIGERATOR is just as noisy as the first one the brought to my home on 2-24-25. This 2nd one was brought to my home on 3-24-25 and make noises 24 hours per day, morning,noon and night. It sounds like a car is running in my kitchen, the water and ice machine door make a different rattling noise and the back of the refrigerator makes a loud roaring noise that sounds like an eighteen wheeler is in my kitchen, garage or drive way. We have to live with these noises non stop. Not sure what GE did to this refrigerator because I had the same one bought in 2017 and it never made these noises. This new has a different model number, but is the same refrigerator.

They ordered me a new request and delivered it on 3-24-25 which is worst than the first one.

Like the fact I can see the back of the fridge shelves & reach them! Water dispenser is tall & accommodates travel mugs & pitchers. Ice maker is small, but keeps up with a couple of people. So far I™™m pleased and the slate color is gorgeous!

The product we received has a spot for an non-adjustable bin on the freezer door yet did not come shipped with it. When I called to inquire about it, I was told that non-adjustable bin is not available for the model I received yet the door has the inserts on each side to click the shelf into as well as a lip to provide for the shelf. We now have a freezer without a door shelf and is looking awkward.

I am so disappointed in this fridg. It is not cooling after only 3.5 years. GE came out to work on it and I was told the warranty expired 6 months ago, (because it's not a Profile), and the cost to repair would be $1100.00. Now I have to decide whether to fix or replace. The decision would be easy, DUMP the GE, but because I purchased a slate colored stove and microwave to match this fridg, I am locked in to another GE if I want them to match. A $2000.00 appliance should last way longer than 3 years! My old Kenmore lasted 25.

Our fridge/freezer is now 4 years and 11 months old and about 3 months ago the freezer just quit working. The fridge still worked fine so we had a repair man come to see about fixing it. He tried a few things and called a he service tech for support during his visit. They ordered a part and still did not fix it. Both repair man and he tech said our fridge freezer was acting weird and it would cost 1300 to repair if they had actually determined what was wrong. Unfortunately, during the repair process, the repairman also deemed that our fridge was not keeping up either, and it has now quit working. So we have a fridge that is less than five years old that cost quite a bit of money and in my opinion should last a lot longer than that and I have decided that I don™™t want to spend money only to find out that Whatever they think is, the problem is actually not the problem. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this fridge to anybody as it only lasted less than five years and when I called about the warranty, they said if I had bought a different model, it would™™ve been a five year warranty, but this model is only a one year warranty despite what my paperwork says. They told me my paperwork in small print actually says that this model is only a one year warranty.

The only issue we had was with the plastic protective wrap. The wrap was obviously installed prior to the installation of some of the exterior devices. Extremely difficult to remove the wrap around those devices.

Bought this refrigerator just over 4 years ago. Five days ago the freezer section stopped working. A certified GE repairman ran a diagnostic and discovered there was a leak in the cooling system. He said it would cost more to repair the problem than to buy a new one. Having to spend thousands of dollars for a new refrigerator after 4 years is absurd. What a lousy product. By the way the lousy product is only warranted for 4 years. An any one day ™planned obsolescence?™ Buyer beware.

Bought this refrigerator just over 4 years ago. The bottom freezer stopped working 5 days ago. Today a certified GE repair technician told me it would cost more to fix it than it would to purchase a new one. So much for reliability! This unit is a terrible waste of money. Buyer beware!!!

We bought this fridge in 2020. In 2021 it stopped cooling due to an issue with the sealed system. It was still under warranty, and GE did fix the issue at minimal cost (though no reimbursement for money lost due to ruined food and the process took multiple weeks). Now three years later, the fridge has again failed in a similar way. Unfortunately, we are now out of the incredibly limited 1-year warranty on a $3k fridge. Very frustrating to have such a problematic low-quality products with clear issues. I will not be recommending GE to anyone.

We have had this fridge for 2 years. It recently stopped cooling and leaking water similar to some other reviews on this site. We had a certified GE repair technician come out and we were told we had a bad compressor. Of course when we looked up the warranty, we found out from both GE and the technician that it was out of warranty. He quoted $1100 for the repair. I had them go ahead and order the parts. We have followed up 3 times in the last week as we are without a fridge and were told their is one part that HAS to be ordered directly from GE which is backordered until November 25th. No wonder given all the similar reviews I found today! When we called GE they gave us a PO box to sent our compliant. We will be looking at new fridges tonight. We will never buy another GE appliance based on this experience. (We have all GE right now). Extremely disappointed customer.

I just bought this exact refrigerator for a second time after the original went out after 4 1/2 years. I was stuck with GE because the ™State™Somehow GE thought it would be a good idea to remove some of the interior shelving features that the old one had.

I know this sounds pathetic, but it really bothers me that this fridge does not come with an egg tray or a dairy tray/compartment in the door. My daughter bought this exact model 3 years ago. Everything is the same, but the tray/compartment is now not included. What??? Seriously GE, an appliance that costs this much and you take away a feature that makes your customers satisfied with your product. In addition, the amount of work that we have had to do to remove the protective covering is ridiculous. There are still tiny pieces in all the seams that we have tried over and over to get out with the suggestions that GE provided. Extremely annoyed.
